Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus. With an Introduction by Bertrand Russell, F.R.S. London: Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co. Ltd, 1922.
1923. First edition in English of Wittgenstein's early masterpiece. Ogden and Ramsey's translation is printed in parallel with the German text which had been published in an obscure journal as 'Logisch-philosophische Abhandlung' the previous year. Arguably the most important philosophy book of the twentieth century. This is the first issue of the first impression, without any publisher's advertisements at the end. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: 8vo, 189 pp., publisher's cloth with spine lettered in gilt, lower board slightly marked, some minor restoration to the spine panel, free endpapers toned as always with this book, front endpaper with the inscription 'P.C. Robertson from D.S.R, 6 Feb 1923', contents crisp and clean throughout, a very good copy of the first impression in its earliest state. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
