Carbon typescript on onionskin, stamped copy number "4" on front wrapper, dated April 9, 1946, with "Changes" stamp below date, and four successive date stamps of revisions below, the last being "Jun 15 1946." "RKO Story Files" stamp on front wrapper. Based on MacKinlay Kantor's 1945 postwar classic novella, "Glory for Me." Three WWII vets, Al Stephenson (Fredric March), Fred Derry (Dana Andrews), and Homer Parrish (Harold Russell) return home from the war, only to discover how difficult it is to readjust to American life. Nominated for ten Academy Awards and winner of nine, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor. Placed in the National Film Registry in 1989. The highest-grossing film to date, since "Gone With the Wind" (1939). Shot on location in Ohio and California. Blue titled wrappers, rubber-stamped copy No. 4, dated APRIL 9, 1946 with four consecutive revision date stamps below, the last being JUN 15 1946, with credits for screenwriter Robert E. Sherwood. Title page integral with first page. 224 leaves, with last page of text numbered 220. Carbon typescript on onionskin, rectos only, with blue and pink revision pages throughout, dated variously between 4/19/46 and 6/15/46.
