Hard cover 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Tall in green cloth w/ gilt spine titles. Very Good book in like unclipped DJ protected in clear cover. Book edgeworn w/ curled corners, creased cloth w/paperclip (?) indentation top front board, blue topstain has bled onto top of front endpapers, spine tips dented, coffee (?) stain in margins approx. last 50 pages (not intruding into text); jacket chipped at corners and spine tips, 1/2" tear to top of soiled rear panel. Front endpaper stamped (twice, once upside down) RAYMOND CHANDLER'S HOME ADDRESS! ALSO stamped with London address of "Helga Green Literary Agency" (Chandler's London agent, she inherited the publishing rights to his work upon his death; Chandler supposedly once asked her father if he could marry his daughter). 15 hard-boiled stories (selected by Shaw from his stint at Black Mask) by: Raymond Chandler ("The Man Who Liked Dogs"), Dashiell Hammett, George Harmon Coxe, Paul Cain, Lester Dent, etc. ix, 465pp inc. Introduction by Joseph T. Shaw. A unique copy for the Chandler buff.
