Three or so tiny marginal notations in text, index at rear has a number of ink dots to margins, brief notes on rear paste down, else Fine with cloth generally bright with just a hint of sunning to spine, sharp gilt. Lacking dust jacket. A very attractive copy. The first English translation of the Tibetan Buddhist text the Bardo Thodol, by American folklorist and religious scholar W.Y Evans-Wentz. Its title was invented by Wentz due to its similarities with the ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead, and like that work this one has become a widely-read and studied classic of world spirituality.
