(Photo album): New Jersey and Northeast Maryland
New Jersey, 1918. Softcover. Near Fine. Small oblong octavo. 8.25" x 5.75". Cord tied tooled flexible suede wrappers. Small stains on the front wrap, else near fine, images are about fine. Scant but informative captioning. Approximately 107 gelatin sliver images. Various sizes, perhaps an average are 5" x 3", with some both larger and smaller. Several images captioned in Merchantville, New Jersey in 1915 identifying Archer Joe Moorhouse and others, mostly with horses; several over images are of shore resort Stone Harbor also dated in 1915 identifying Captain Ed Kelsal. Other images in 1918 feature soldiers and a military parade, possibly in Philadelphia. A few images in the middle are dated in 1912 and are noted as N.E. Maryland, possibly the Chesapeake Bay. It seems the majority are of a fairly rustic farm, possibly in Merchantville, featuring an elderly couple, with firearms at the ready or in evidence. The images are particularly well-composed, pleasing, and tidy album featuring southern New Jersey.
