It spawned Gringore's Les abus (1509), Desmoulins' Le cymetière (1511), Adonville's Les regretz (1529/30), Copeland's Hye Way to the Spyttle Hous (c. 1536) and Den Rechten Weg nae 't Gaesthuys (?1550).  Marchans qui achetent chier & vendent a bon marche & a credit...  Ceulx qui mengent leur ble en herbe...  [as Rabelais' Panurge]  I have traced eight editions, four in single examples. From the libraries of Yemeniz (Catalogue (1867) 1643), Firmin-Didot (Catalogue (1878), 624 "fort rare"), Fairfax Murray (Catalogue p. [xiii]) and Edmée Maus (Inventaire 104).
