Parisiis : Apud Galeotum a Prato, 1551. Pope Leo X visited Bologna from 8 December 1515 through 18 February 1516, where he held negotiations with King Francis I of France. Their talks resulted in the abrogation of the French Pragmatic Sanction and the conclusion of a new Concordat between the Papacy and France, the Concordat of Bologna (1516). The groundwork was laid in a series of personal meetings of king and pope in Bologna, 11-15 December 1515. The concordat was signed in Rome on 18 August 1516. This book was published in Parisiis in 1551 by Galliot du Pre' (Galliotus a Prato), a 16th century Parisian bookseller, with the permission of King Henry II of France. The book in Latin with an alphabetical index. The book has been re-cased in black leather with marbled liner prior to 1933 It is in good condition. Title on the spine in gilt reads, Concordat entre Leon X et Francois I, or The Agreement Between Leon X and Francis. Condition issues: The right upper corner missing from the title page, as shown in the photographs. All pages of the original 16th century body of the book are clean, there are two names and minimal notes on the fly leaf pages.
