Sir Lawrence James Wackett (1896-1982) was an renowned Australian aeronautical engineer and designer, and is regarded as one 'the towering figures in Australia aviation'. Wackett served in the RAAF in World War I as a pilot and engineer, and later founded the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation, Australia's first aviation manufacturer supplying the Government.
