Bound in late 18th / early 19th century half calf boards, with extremities rubbed, more recent spine, internal hinges strengthened. A very pleasing, unique copy. What sets this copy apart from others is the late 17th & early 18th century manuscript receipts and treatments for various ailments including the Countess of Kent's rare receipt for a consumption & cough in the lungs, treatments of sores, pain of the stomach, fever & sore eye, a remedy to cure the ague. These receipts and remedies are found on the verso of the final text leaf and to the following 6 blank pages. With manuscript ownership signatures of Isaac Holmes 1754 & 1755.
