London, 1798. The Aloe {but in fact an Agave Americana) Plate XII from the Temple of Flora, after Philip Reinagle. Hand-coloured and colour-printed aquatint, stipple and line engraving by Medland on Whatman paper. Tiny puncture hole central left margin of plate, else in Very Good condition with good bright colour. Framed and glazed. Total frame size 75 x 60 cm 30 x 23 inches. Plate title dated Jan 1800. This plate the first issue 1798 later issues being titled "American Aloe" with a later date [Attributes: First Edition]
