George Carleton
THE MILITARY MEMOIRS OF CAPTAIN GEORGE CARLETON From the Dutch War, 1762,in which he serv'd, to the Conclusion of the Peace at Utrecht 1713
E. Symon, London, 1728. viii, 1-352p. Full leather, recently restored with modern leather spine and new endpapers, preserving the original boards. Some browning to first and final few leaves but generally a clean book in very good condition. Scarce account of warfare in the Age of Marlborough. This work was often attributed to Daniel Defoe but modern scholarship refutes this claim. It is currently held to be an accurate memoir of the life of an English adventurer.
