Russ Cochran, Publisher, West Plains, MO, 1976. 271; 305; 247pp. Quarto [32.5 cm] Ivory buckram cloth over boards with the title stamped in gilt on the backstrip, and a gilt stamped leather title label and adhered pictorial paper label on the front cover. Patterned endpapers. In a brown paper covered slipcase lettered in gilt on the spine. The books are near fine. The slipcase is in very good condition, with light surface and edge wear. One corner of the slipcase is bumped. Vol 1 was issued in 1976, Volume Two in 1977, and Volume 3, not until 1984. The slipcase was issued after that. One in an edition limited to 2000 numbered copies (this is set #617). The three books are lavishly produced with color reproductions and foldouts throughout. Hundreds of color illustrations. Includes every published illustrator of ERB and some unpublished illustrators. Volume Three is about half full of Frank Frazetta art and an interview. The other artists in Volume Three include: Burne Hogarth, Jesse Marsh, Rex Mason, Russ Manning, Frank Schoonove, Morris Gollub, Mahlon Blaine, Roy G. Krenkel. Ed Emsh, Reed Crandall and others. Volume One is J. Allen St. John, Volume Two is more St. John, John Coleman Burroughs, Harold R Foster, Stanley O. Burroughs, and Morris Gollub. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
