NOW LET THE SHOW GO ON! Mrs. Lockwood Nomination for Pres. Women's Rights Party
New York: PUCK Keppler &Schwarzmann;, September 17,1884ber 17. Mrs. Belva Lockwood bursts on the stage occupied by Ben Butler dressed as a clown. She is waving a rolled up docuement which says "Nomination for Pres.Womens' Right Party." Butler holds string of sausage. The last link saying "Tammany's Nomination". Mrs Lockwood was a lawyer admitted to bar by President Grant at her request. She received over 4000 votes for President though she wasn't allowed on the ballet. This periodical is complete and now framed with acid-free mat and backing. A brass name plate is added to the frame. It states: MRS. BELVA LOCKWOOD FIRST WOMAN TO MOUNT PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN IN 1884.
