1980 Erté Pencil Signed Serigraph “L’Amour”
1892. We offer a pencil signed serigraph by Erté featuring one of his willowy sprites from the “Emotions” series. It is printed on heavy metallic paper that measures 22 ¾” x 17 ½” and is signed and editioned along the lower margin “73/300, Erté”. The Circle Gallery blindstamp is visible in the the lower left margin. Item #PR00372. Romain de Tirtoff (1892–1990) was a Russian-born French artist and designer known by the pseudonym Erté. He made singular, beloved designs in a wide variety of mediums including fashion, sculpture, theater sets, interiors, printmaking, costume and jewelry. His work is in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Condition: The metallic paper has subtle oxidation at the margins, otherwise the print is in good untouched condition.
