Contemporary vellum over pasteboard, gilt floriate border, smooth spines gilt, red and black morocco lettering-pieces. Provenance: Wilfred Scawen Blunt (1840-1922), English poet and writer (armorial bookplates). FIRST EDITION. Wilson describes his tour to Galais, Paris, Lyons, Avignon, Nimes, Vaucluse, Montpellier, Aix, Marseilles, Genoa, Pisa, Florence, Rome (an extensive narrative occupying most of vol. 2), Tivoli, Albano, Fondi, Naples (an extensive narrative in vol. 3), Bologna, Venice, Padua, Milan, Como, Modena, Parma, and Turin. With fine provenance: from the library of English poet and writer Wilfred Scawen Blunt, husband of Lady Anne Noel, the daughter of the Earl of Lovelace and Ada Lovelace, and granddaughter of Lord Byron. Map with one tear repaired on verso and several smaller separations and creases along folds. Several discreet marginal repairs.
