Excerpts: "I am known to both General Robert Hasbrouck...and General Bruce Clarke...who helped me, and indeed allowed me to film interviews with them, for another production I made last year for Westinghouse entitled BATTLE FOR THE BULGE, which you may well have seen, as it was to mark the 25th anniversary of that particular campaign. I have letters of congratulation from them both, and in fact from many other serving American officers, as to my fairness and professionalism in that connection. I am also known to General Mark Clark of Charleston, South Carolina, in connection with a film I made earlier last year about the BATTLE FOR CASSINO." "I think I ought to come clean and say at the outset that as well as chatting with you I would very much like to film a brief interview with you concerning your role in the planning of the atom bomb." In 1970, Batty produced a fifty-two-minute documentary entitled The Atomic Bomb: The Dawn of the Nuclear Age!
