Cooper, James Fenimore
Notions of the Americans: Picked up by a Travelling Bachelor
Carey, Lea and Carey, Philadelphia, 1828. The original full leather binding has some minor wear and rubbing, but is solid; a stain at the bottom edge affects the first few pages of Volume One; both volumes have Rutland Farmer's Library labels on the inside of the front board; a few signatures in Volume One have sprung, but there is surprisingly little foxing typical of American books of this era; a respected bookseller's note says this edition preceded the English, but a copy currently on their website claims the opposite. What can be said with certainly is this is a very nice copy of the First American Edition in a very nice contemporary binding, and is scarce such. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
Bookseller: Recycled [Corte Madera, CA, U.S.A.]
