Original green buckram with photographic illustration mounted to upper cover, lettered in gilt, with date 1909. Spine a little rubbed. Very good copy, lacking the topographical map toi fit into front sleeve. Illustrated after photographs. 36 pp. 1 vols. Square 8vo. The club is located on Spider Lake, Dead River, Maine, bordering Quebec. "This fabled club, exclusive, composed of very wealthy members, flourished in some of the greatest wilderness left in the Northeast" (Bruns). With photographs and descriptions of the eight different camps on the club lands, which encompassed three lakes (Megantic, Rush, and Spider) and six rivers: the Arnold, Dead, Indian, the upper Kennebago, and the upper and lower Spider rivers. The club membership was limited to 250; and a point is made that catch and release was the general practice of the anglers. Bruns M152 ("Scarce").
