Naval economy exemplified in conversations between a Member of Parliament and the officers of a man of war, during a winter's cruize; addressed to the Honorable Members of both Houses of Parliament, and the officers of the Royal Navy.
London: printed by John Dean ..... for William Lindsell. 1811. 8vo., (2) + iv + 78 + 10pp., well bound recently in boards, labelled and lettered. A fine copy. First edition. An interesting examination, by means of dialogue, between an anonymous M.P. and the officers of an early 19th century Royal Navy warship, on the state of the Navy. Focusing particularly upon the state of existing masts and sails, the author promotes the funding and provisioning of improvements in naval equipment, at the same time as also revealing the subtleties of the command structure and the professional expectations of the officer class in the Royal Navy.
