Small 8vo, approximately 160 x 105 mm, 6½ x 4 inches, vignette to title page of the Tower of Babel, a few decorated initials and tailpieces, numerous symbols, letters, tiny pictures, musical notation etc., in the text, pages: [16], 1-138, [3], includes Errata, bound in quarter vellum, marbled boards, paper label with ink lettering to spine. Vellum spine stained, boards rubbed with slight loss to marbled paper, corners worn, shelf wear to edges, 2 purple stamps to blank side of title page by a previous owner, one very pale, pastedowns and endpapers have pale browning, last three leaves have a pale stain, a little shallow creasing to pages, old ink manuscript note in early hand beneath the word "Finish" and on the last page (Lector Benevole), apart from the faults mentioned the rest of the text is very clean. A very good copy. This work was based on John Dee's Monas Hieroglyphica, it takes the form of a dialogue between Theopranicus and Philologus.
