Frontispiece portrait and decorated title page at the beginning of each part, making 4 of each. Engraved plate before leaf 1 in vol. I. Fold-out chart in vol. I. Chart in vol. II p. 683. Occasional decorations. Full leather with raised bands. Respined with original spines overlaid, new spine labels. Corners rebuilt. Part II has small holes in rear board. Hinges repaired internally. Ink notations on endpapers and in margins throughout. Signature of previous owner on title page in vol. I and on front pastedown of vol. II. Index by previous owner at rear of vol. II (Pt. II) and in centre of vol. III (Pt. III). Blank leaves for index at rear of vol. III (Pt. 3) not filled in. Vol. I. has tear on fold of fold-out plate, tear in p. 256, stain on p. 283. Ink mark on Vol. III Pt. III title page. A few tiny tears, spots, thumb marks. An occasional chip may be a paper imperfection.
