Published by Henn, Geneva, 1920 ( 39 cm x 29 cm).Léon Delafosse (1874 - 1955) was a French composer and pianist and is best known as possible model for Charles Morel, one of the characters in Marcel Proust's: ¬ĎA la recherche du temps perdu'Delafosse was a pupil of Antonin Marmontel at the Conservatoire de Paris and won the first price at the Conservatoire at the age of 13. Thereafter he became a protégé of the poet Robert de Montesquiou, countess Metternich and princes Rachel de Brancovan. In 1874 he became friends with Marcel Proust to whom he dedicated several compostionsDelafosse dedicated this work to Mademoiselle Bartholini, sister of the composer Jean Bartholini. Brother and sister Bartholini also were members of the circle around Proust.(5 compostions: 1. Les Fleurs du Jardin Mysterieux. 2. Le Recit du Berger. 3. Un Oiseau le silence du soir. 4. Les Barques de cristal. 5. Les Bosquets d'Aladin.).
