1571. Antique print, titled: 'Quarta pars Brabantiae cujus caput Sylvaducis Willebordus vander Burgt describ' - Highly detailed map of ‘s-Hertogenbosch and surroundings. Includes a decorative cartouche, 6 coats of arms, topped by winged cherubs and two larger coats of arms.The map was prepared by Willibrordus van der Burgt. Considered one of the most decorative maps published by the publishing house of Blaeu. Etching / engraving with hand colouring on hand laid paper. Description: Source unknown, to be determined.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Willem Janszoon Blaeu' after an anonymous artist. Willem Janszoon Blaeu (1571 - 1638), also abbreviated to Willem Jansz. Blaeu, was a Dutch cartographer, atlas maker and publisher. He had two sons, Johannes and Cornelis Blaeu, who continued their father's mapmaking and publishing business after his death in 1638. Condition: Good, given age. Paper separation lower middle fold; repaired. Some light vertical creases. Several small spots. Original middle fold as issued.
