Small repair in a2 slightly affecting a couple of words, and in the inner margin of title; without the pamphlet (18 ff.) written in 1329 by P. Bertrand in defence of the rights of the Church against the temporal monarchs, which is frequently bound with the present work. First edition of the first printed life of St. Thomas à Becket, written about 1199 by Henry, Abbot of Croyland (Lincolnshire), who used the writings of four contemporaries intimately associated with Becket and his cause against King Henry II.
