Leather spine over marbled boards, gilt titles on spine, title page, dedication (2 pages), preface (9 pages), page in Latin (Gregor Nazian. de bono Conjugii), contents (2 pages), 82pp, handwritten title page for the three catalogues, handwritten first 2 page of the catalogues, 18 additional printed pages completing the concordance and difference of the catalogues. The three tables are included on 2 foldout sheets. Minor rubbing to covers, spine ends and spine joints. Gift sticker and inked line of text on front stuckdown, pencilled note re tables on front free endpaper, title page browned and faded, though still legible, closed tear in margin of first page of preface, tear in margin of third page of preface (no loss to text), faint watermark to top outer corners and margins of last few pages, some yellowing of pages. The handwritten pages are presumed to be a later replacement to lost original pages, as the "s" is written as "s" not "f". One table has a 2cm closed tear, the other a 5cm closed tear. An important work describing the legalities of marriage between related persons.
