Recent gray boards, hand-lettered title at spine, mild embrowning, light dampstain at top corner, 1/2-inch piece lacking at bottom margin B1, otherwise a very good copy. ¦ First Edition. Antonio Mizauld (1510-78), a friend of Oronce FinĀŽ, served as astrologer and physician to Margeurite of Valois. His first published work, a treatise on weather prediction, appeared in 1546. A prolific author, he wrote on comets, gardens, herbs, medicine, and astronomy. Mizauld is best known for his treatises on astrological medicine, Secrets de la Lune (1571), and Harmonia Coelestium Corporum & Humanorum (1555). Like these earlier works, Harmonia Superioris is rooted in the Renaissance discourse on the relation of macrocosm and microcosm. An elegantly printed little work. Adams 1501. Caillet 7613.
