The First UK printing published by Gollancz in 1936. The BOOK is in Very Good++ condition. Light pushing at the spine ends with mild bumping to the corners. The gilt titling remains bright. Mild age related markings to the boards. Light toning to the text block and page edges with some spotting to the prelims and rear end papers. Free from inscriptions. The front blank end paper has been pasted down to the front pastedown (publishing fault) with resultant exposure of the webbing to the half title page. The binding remains tight. Page 241 has some neat penned underlining and one margin annotation (Unknown hand). No dustjacket. The book has been Signed by the author to the half title page : 'With the author's compliments, A.J.A.'. The author's first book and one of only 500 copies. One of the most important philosophy books of the 20th century, championing the cause of logical positivism and science. Extremely scarce with such attributes. Collectible.
