Description: This print originates from: 'Ancient and modern Malta: containing a description of the ports and cities of the islands of Malta and Goza.', by Louis de Boisgelin, published in London by G. & J. Robinson in 1804. The standard history of Malta up until that time. Scarse.Artists and Engravers: Author Pierre Marie Louis de Boisgelin de Kerdu, knight of Malta. Alias Caillot-Duval, a French writer living from 1758-1816. He became a knight of Malta in 1782. Plate by James A. Merigot (French, active 1772-1816). Condition: Fair. Age related toning and light staining. Original fold lines as issued. Paper separation, particularly at bottom fold lines, backed by identical paper. Paper loss in bottom margin, backed.
