First Ransome illustrated edition. 8vo. [203 x 133 x 31 mm]. 375pp. Newly bound by Bayntun-Riviere in full mid green morocco, the covers with a gilt fillet fillet border around three sides extending across the smooth spine, with the four points of the compass, the front cover with a gilt block of "Swallows and Amazons for ever" and a band of white, blue and green gouges, replicating the endleaves, across both covers and spine, with gilt lettering on the spine, the turn-ins tooled with a gilt roll and fillets, Japanese wave pattern endleaves, gilt edges. First published in 1930, the second edition of 1931 was illustrated by Clifford Webb, and this 1938 edition was the first with Ransome's own illustrations.
