This very scarce atlas with original gilt stamped cover. has 65 pages with many hand colored maps, each with its own border. * The maps are clean. printed on one side of the page only. * The first front and back pages contain the index of towns & villages, table of distances, a list of post offices, and also the population of each county taken from an 1875 census. * Their are 9 double page maps and 11 single page maps. * The book size is about 16 3/4 by 13 3/4 inches. * The first double page map is of the United states which has a small 1/2 inch tear at the bottom central fold. * In between page 55 and page 59 is a lisht weight folding map that has not been folded correctly and as a result it is wrinkled and includes a 7 inch tear toward the bottom of the map. * Page 59 includes business notices that were located within the county. * The end papers from the front and backof the book are split and ths spine shows wear, fading and is in need of repair at the very top. The book also has bumped corners. * Inside the front cover are two small red ink ownership stamps indicating that this book belonged to W. H. Winchester, an attorney from Fort Covington, New York. * These complete New York State County atlases are becoming very scarce because people are breaking them up for the individual maps.
