Fascilus Geographicus., 1608.. Copper engraving. Original outline colour. Very good condition. Good margins. Rivers and a few place-names outlined in brown and green. Size: 26.5 x 18 cm. (10½ x 7 inches). Handsome map of Southwestern Holland with north to the right. Latin text at top left, scales at lower right. Matthaus Quad was a German cartographer based in Cologne, which, at the time was the centre for German cartography. This map is from his Fascilus Geographicus. It was printed by Johannes Bussemacher.
