SARRAZIN (Albertine)
[Click Below for Full Description]

Collage Art - Plymell, Charles
No Place: No Publisher (Dave Haselwood?), 1965. First edition. Paperback. Near Fine. Rare volume of collage art by poet Charles Plymell. One of at least two distinct versions of this magazine. This copy measures 11" wide x 17" tall. 12 leaves including illustrated covers. An enigmatic publication with little info to go by. WorldCat suggests that this work was created in 1965 and published by Dave Haselwood, but no publication info is included with the magazine. A clean near fine example. Collage elements borrow from film, comic books, movie magazines and other sources. We have seen this same title in a smaller (7 1/2 x 11") format with slightly different content. No priority known.

OLIVER, Mary.
Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1965. Octavo. Original blue cloth, titles to spine white, window design to front board in yellow. With the dust jacket. Faint fading to spine and around board edges, trivial rubbing to ends and corners, but an excellent copy in the jacket with light rubbing at the extremities. First US edition, first printing, rare presentation copy, thrice signed by the author and twice by her lover and literary agent Molly Malone Cook: inscribed by Oliver on the half-title, "March 1965 For Walter, Mary", signed on the title page, and inscribed by her on the final text leaf on the verso "still for Walter, Mary"; Cook has also signed the half-title and final text leaf on the verso. The recipient was Walter P. Chrysler Jr. (1909–1988), the son of the founder of the Chrysler Corporation, who spent much of his life and wealth as a collector and influential patron of the arts. This is the first book of poetry by Mary Oliver (b. 1935), preceded by a very scarce London edition under the same title two years previously, but here published with 19 additional poems. From this debut aged 28, Oliver went on to win the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize (for American Primitive, 1983) among many others, and to become "far and away this country's best selling poet" (The New York Times 18 Feb 2007). The titular poem of this collection had won the Poetry Society of America's annual price in 1962. Primarily a poet of nature, she lived for most of her writing career in Provincetown, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and has been compared to Emerson and Emily Dickinson. Thiess, Frank, Schriftsteller (1890-1977)
Berlin, Bad Aussee, Bremen, Darmstadt, Hamburg, London, Wien u. a. O., 1918, 1965. [Click Below for Full Description]

McMurtry, Larry (Ophelia Ray)
New York: New York Graphic Society(1965). 1st edition/1st printing. This book ghost-written by Larry McMurtry, and is signed on the front end page by McMurtry, in his usual scrawl. Stated First Edition, in white 2nd issue dustjacket. The book is bound in beige cloth and is straight, clean, tight and has no handwriting other than author's signature, but with bumps to upper corners and a narrow strip to front end page that's very slightly darkened (like by a bookmark having been placed there once). The price intact ($2.95) dustjacket is bright and clean and crisp. The only faults I can find at all are what may be a very, very tiny rub at lower spine end and the hint of a tiny, extremely faint spot near the spine. Lovely example of this scarce book, particularly scarce signed. ; Signed by Author, 10, 20, NF/F, LOC 6513541

SHEPARD, Ernest H.
Van Goor Zonen, Hague, n.d, 1965. Two ALS loosely inserted. Both on 'Woodmancote' headed paper and signed 'Kipper'. Kipper was Shepard's nickname, taken from a music hall phrase "Giddy Kipper" for a "gay & irresponsible fellow". Both letters are addressed to 'Cornelius' and concern Shepard's day-to-day activities and the health of Norah, his second wife. Dated July 1965 and May 1971. Both very good indeed with a slight crease across the middle and a little browning around the edges on both. The book, with Dutch text, shows minimal wear ow vg+.
