Brodskij, Iosif / Brodsky, Joseph.
Washington, Inter Language Associates. 1965 - 8°. 236 pp. Original grey cardboard. Two minors stains on cover, spine slightly faded, otherwise very good condition. The scarce first edition of Brodsky's unauthorized first book, based on unauthorized samizdat copies of poems written before 1962. The book had of course typing errors and mistakes, but it was nevertheless a chapter for the publicity of the young poet. Brodsky soon afterwards published a second book with his authorized poems, published 1970 in New York at Chekov Press. Joseph Brodsky (1940 – 1996) was a Russian and American poet and essayist. Born in Leningrad, he ran afoul of Soviet authorities and emigrated to the United States. [Attributes: First Edition]

Egon Pruggmayer
[Click Below for Full Description]

O'Connor, Flannery.
New York: Farar, Straus, & Giroux, 1965. A Fine tight copy in a Fine, bright, unclipped dust jacket. Flannery O'Connor was working on Everything That Rises Must Converge at the time of her death. This collection is an exquisite legacy from a genius of the American short story, in which she scrutinizes territory familiar to her readers: race, faith, and morality. The stories encompass the comic and the tragic, the beautiful and the grotesque; each carries her highly individual stamp and could have been written by no one else.
