MCCARTHY, Cormac
Random House, 1965. First Edition. Hardcover. Octavo, 246pp. Stated first printing. A good copy in the publisher's burgundy boards with green cloth spine. Front board a tinge bowed, foxing to fore-edge, and some internal foxing, mostly at the first and last few leaves. Top edge foxed wth a few droplet stains, very faded and not visible internally. The front flap of the dust jacket, creased and worn, is laid-in (first issue, with a $4.95 price and 5/65 at the bottom). A flawed, but still presentable first printing of Cormac McCarthy's rare first novel - a literary effort by an obscure unknown writer, and thus printed in very small numbers. Suitable for a facsimile dust jacket or perhaps a handsome rebind. Good. [Attributes: First Edition]

Frank Herbert
fine in near fine dj. Frank Herbert (1965) 'Dune', US first edition, first printing, published by Chilton Company. This is a rare review copy (no physical difference to the true first edition) which was sent ahead of publication (1 October 1965) to selected booksellers. The original review slip is loosely laid in. The book is unread and in breathtaking condition. Housed in a clamshell case with Dune design protecting the book perfectly. Condition details: A fine copy in a near fine dust jacket for the harshest of judges with a bear minimum of shelf wear. There are no prevoius owners' names, no inscriptions, no bookplates, not stamps etc. Internally clean and spotless. The boards are tight and clean, with no bumps, no lean. Very slight discoluration to the boards' edges. The page block edges are white and NOT foxed. The dust jacket is original and UNRESTORED. It is the correct first issue wrapper with the USD 5.95 price and four lines of publisher information on the bottom rear flap. There is a little of edge wear (a little rubbing), but no tears. Perhaps a slight fade on the spine of the jacket hard to capture on camera. The dust jacket is so thin and fragile as dust jackets in the 1960s were so that very few specimen will be found in better condition than our example. The publication history of 'Dune' has become legendary. After researching sand dunes in Oregon Herbert got the idea to write the story. The novel was serialised in ANALOG magazine from Decmber 1963 onwards as 'Dune World' and 'Prophet of Dune'. After 23 rejections by established publishers, Chilton Company, a … [Click Below for Full Description]

Telingater S., Kaplan L.
Moscow: Kniga, 1965. 228 pp.: ill. 22x17.7 cm. In original cloth with the letterpress design and constructivist dust-wrapper by Solomon Telingater. Dust-wrapper with a couple of tears. Otherwise fine. First edition. Rare. Both a brief account of the book history and an extensive study of the origins and later development of job printing. Published in 1965, the book is written by one of the biggest names in Russian book art, Solomon Telingater (1903-1969) and the author of numerous typography studies, Lev Kaplan. The former, alongside El Lissitzky (1890-1941), Gustav Klutsis (1895-1938) and Alexander Rodchenko (1891-1956), was a founding member of the October group - a collective of Constructivist artists responsible for revolutionizing standards of the 1930s Soviet typography and book design. Influenced by the avant-garde tendencies of the time, Telingater made a name for himself as a daring experimenter who applied the trends of the emerging film industry and the features of photographic technology to book art. Solomon stood out above the rest of the graphic artists not only because of his modernist inclinations, but because of his masterly knowledge of typography. He paid particular attention to the drawn types (prints), regarding them to increase the expressiveness of book design. His most famous works include: "Dvenadtsat'" [i.e.Twelve] (1923), "S meshkom za smert'yu" [i.e. With a Sack after Death] (1927), "Slovo predostavlyayetsya Kirsanovu" [i.e. The Word Belongs to Kirsanov] (1930), "Tragediynaya noch'" [i.e. Tragical Night] (1931), Govorit Il'ich [i.e. Lenin … [Click Below for Full Description]

A beautiful inscribed and signed copy in first edition. This book is notorious to find signed in first edition, let alone a nice first edition in a fine dust jacket. Here is the book for collector of keystone books. First Edition. SIGNED AND INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR, John Ball, on the title page to bookman, artist and owner of Phantom Bookshop of Ventura, California and manager Katie W P Crawford. Even John Ball had a rough time acquiring any kind of first edition himself, and he was a fellow who went into many bookshops. He told me personally years ago. how difficult it was to find a first edition of his book. He was constantly on the look-out to find one. I was associated with The Book Mall of Ventura years ago and here is another inscription he wrote on the title page of another copy I sold of In The Heat of The Night, to Book Mall owner Sol Grossman: "For Sol Grossman who, somehow, found this book." Sol and his wife were mystery book collectors and sellersand I remember Sol telling me he had finally found a copy of this epic book, that really did change history in many ways that still affect each of us. John Ball was an interesting man. Martial arts master mystery, jade collector, policeman, intellectual … [Click Below for Full Description]

Ian Fleming
The Man With The Golden Gun by Ian Fleming Jonathan Cape 1965 1st Edition / 1st Printing / 1st State Mega Rare Copy With Guilt Gun to Front Board I have for sale the very best copy of this book title on the internet, 'The Man With The Golden Gun' by Ian Fleming. As you can see from the photos, this is the extremely rare 1st State copy which has the 'Guilt Gun' to the front-board. Whilst this is an extremely rare book to find, coming across a copy which has absolutely zero oxidization to the guilt gun is about as rare as it comes. Look on the internet for yourself, 99.9% of copies that come up for sale have some form of ageing, this is a remarkable survivor. Since this was purchased back in 1965, it has been kept out of the light and in bubble wrap (hence why is looks so fresh and in such stunning condition). Externally, the book presents 'Fine' (ref. photos) with nice clean boards. Internally, the book is clean throughout, no tears, pen marks, folded pages, brown spotting creases or handling marks. The original DJ again is in lovely 'Fine' condition and isn't price-clipped, showing 18s.net (as called for). In terms of comparable copies, I've not seen another copy (in this type of condition) turn up for sale for many many years. All the copies currently for sale on the internet aren't a patch on this copy, it's an absolute stunner. If you're collecting at the very top level then this copy is definately for you. I've seen copies of this same book title up for sale at between £8000 - £14000 (which increase significantly in price based on their condition), none however are as n … [Click Below for Full Description]

EN ESTA EXPOSICIÓN EL ARTISTA FUE REPRESENTADO POR LEO CASTELLI DE NEW YORK, CONSTA DE UNA BIOGRAFÍA DE WHARHOL EN TINTA MAGENTA COMO TODO EL CATÁLOGO . Telingater S., Kaplan L.
Kniga, Moscow, 1965. 228 pp.: ill. Lenin Speakin … [Click Below for Full Description]
