Senensky, Ralph (director); Richard Donner (director); Daniel B. Ullman, Roy Huggins (screenwriters); David Janssen, Arthur O'Connell, Sheree North, Kim Darby, Janice Rule, Kevin McCarthy (starring)
Burbank, CA: American Broadcasting Company [ABC], 1965. Revision pages for two episodes of "The Fugitive": "An Apple a Day" (season 3, episode 8, 68th episode of 120), and "Wife Killer" (seen here under its working title, "A Quiet Weekend in the Country," season 3, episode 17, 77th episode of 120). "The Fugitive" (1963-1967) was an American crime-drama series created by Roy Huggins, distributed by ABC and produced by Quinn Martin Productions, starring David Janssen as Richard Kimble, a physician falsely accused of his wife's murder. En route to death row, Kimble manages to escape and begins a cross-country manhunt for the true killer, a one-armed man played by Bill Raisch (who actually had only one arm). The first three seasons were filmed in black-and-white, and the final season in color. From 1963 to 1967, "The Fugitive" ran for a total of 120 episodes. Remade as a television series in 2000, and basis for the 1993 Andrew Davis film starring Harrison Ford as Kimble, and Tommy Lee Jones. In "An Apple a Day," Kimble injures himself and ends up in the care of a natural medicine practitioner, wondering how he can help save another patient who is seriously ill. Pinup model and sometimes-Burlesque dancer Sheree North costars, as well as Kim Darby. In "Wife Killer" ("A Quiet Weekend in the Country"), Kimble and a female reporter capture the One-Armed Man, and attempt to get him to confess to the murder of Kimble's wife. Janice Rule and Kevin McCarthy costar, as well as Raisch as the One-Armed Man. "An Apple a Day": Pink revision … [Click Below for Full Description]

Grass, Gunter; Ralph Manheim, translator
Harcourt Brace & World, NY 1965 - “Dog Years’ is a meditation on modern history in the guise of a novel, a study of Germany before, during and after the Second World War, a tale of the interrelated fortunes of two friends, Walter Matern [and] Eddi Amsel, half-Jew. In its well-nigh stupefying length, in its almost ritual use of distortions, shifting perspectives, and completely unaccommodating, dispassionate weaving of minutiae (at once quaint, brutal, and poetic), and in the terrible geniality of its denunciatory spirit and in its disgusts, it is without doubt one of the most astonishing literary performances since ‘Finnegan’s Wake’. It is also, naturally, one of the most troubling.” [Kirkus Reviews] The third book in the Danzig Trilogy: 'The Tin Drum,' 'Cat and Mouse' and 'Dog Years'; all documenting the rise of Nazism, WWII, and the following years. The Nobel Prize in Literature 1999 was awarded to Gunter Grass "whose frolicsome black fables portray the forgotten face of history." Very good. § First edition of this selection, with English and Italian on facing pages. Presentation copy inscribed (in translation): "To dear Mario Diacono, to the poet and collaborator without equal. Giuseppe Ungaretti, Rome, 22nd October 1965". The last hundred pages (a scholarly appendix) are in fact by Diacono, who has later inscribed it to someone else, presumably a Berkeley friend. Not in Bentley. Ungaretti is (along with Montale and Quasimodo) one of the three most famous Italian poets of the 20th century. His collaborator Mario Diacono, his former student and private secretary from 1960 to 1967 then spent 3 years in Berkeley.

Beiliegend die Subskriptions-Einladung. Ernst Jünger (* 29. März 1895 in Heidelberg; + 17.
