Frank Herbert
Very Good / Very Good. Item #5632 Philadelphia: Chilton Books, 1965. Stated First Edition with mention of Ambassador Books in Canada to copyright page. Unclipped, first issue illustrated dust jacket with original "$5.95" price present, and 4-line address for Chilton Books to rear flap. Blue cloth-covered boards with white lettering to spine and wave-patterned brown brown endpapers. [Ahearn]Dust jacket shows light shelfwear, moderate wear to top of spine, and a couple very small closed tears along edges, but spine is remarkably unfaded. Some light soiling to flaps and rear panel, and toning to back of jacket. Boards are sturdy and square in binding with some staining to top and bottom edges. Loss of one inch strips of front pastedown and front free endpaper at hinge, appears that small area was glued together at some point. Pages unmarked.A sound, collectible first edition. The accolades for Dune are numerous, and for the Folio Society's 50th Anniversary edition, Washington Post book reviewer Michael Dirda wrote, "Before Star Wars, before A Game of Thrones, Frank Herbert brought to blazing life a feudalistic future of relentless political intrigue and insidious treachery....[It] is more than a futuristic swashbuckler or a science-fiction 'coming of age' novel. It is a serious moral fable about the foreseen and unforeseen consequences of the choices we make.". [Attributes: First Edition; In Dust Jacket]

Klein, Yves / Charles Wilp:
London. Düsseldorf. Resco / Sight & Sound Production. (1965). Erste Auflage. T 74 975 / LP 062650. 1 LP, 33 RPM. 31,0 x 31,7 cm. [Vgl. Condition: Very Good. Jeff's Book: A Chronology of Jeff Beck's Career, 1965-1980, from the Yardbirds to Jazz-Rock by Christopher Hjort (Paperback, 1999). Bibliographic information Title Jeff's Book: A Chronology of Jeff Beck's Career, 1965-1980, from the Yardbirds to Jazz-rock Authors Christopher Hjort, Doug Hinman Edition illustrated Publisher Rock 'n' Roll Research Press, 1999 ISBN 0964100533, 9780964100534 Length 240 pages Jeff Beck is undoubtedly one of the most gifted guitarists that Britain has produced and made a substantial contribution to music in the 1960s through his work with the Yardbirds and the Jeff Beck Group. This new book is not a biography of Jeff Beck but a chronology of what he has done up to 1980. As such it does not look to discover the "real" Jeff but it does show how hard he worked over the years and the sort of things he did. For Making Time readers, the most important period is Jeff's work in the 1960s, mostly with the Yardbirds and then with the Jeff Beck Group, one of the first supergroups. The book is arranged as a diary with an entry for every date, or at least those days when something happened. However, the authors note that there is still some mystery surrounding Jeff Beck and it was difficult to peace together the chronology from different, often conflicting, sources. The book is highly detailed with listings of songs played on different tours and details of all records released in the UK and USA. There are many concert ads and full details of Yardbirds tours in the USA that start to piece together the details of Beck's split with the band … [Click Below for Full Description]
