Klein, Yves / Charles Wilp:
London. Düsseldorf. Resco / Sight & Sound Production. (1965). Erste Auflage. T 74 975 / LP 062650. 1 LP, 33 RPM. 31,0 x 31,7 cm. [Vgl. O'Hara, Frank
Tibor de Nagy, 1965. First edition. Square 8vo, bound in decorated wraps designed by Fred R. Siegel. One of only 20 signed and numbered copies of the special edition, this copy also housed in an unprinted glassine wrapper, which we've not previously encountered. The first edition of the poet's last book to be published in his lifetime, a collection of love poems written for Vincent Warren. John Bernard Myers is credited as editing the book, here more than a mere nod - Myers urged O'Hara to publish the collection for years, and was responsible for the order of this bittersweet sequence. [Smith A9]. Light toning, with a slight bump to lower tip, else fine. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy]

Claude Spaak
1965. [Brno]: A. B., 1965. Oblong folio (13 × 21.5 cm). Blue embossed cloth; [14] leaves of mimeographed typescript to rectos and [21] leaves of original photographic prints of Delvaux's work, apparently taken from the original book publication. Very good; owner inscription to title. Unrecorded surrealist samizdat created by Arnošt Budík, a founding member of the Brno-based post-war Czech surrealist group Lacoste (Skupina Lacoste). This copy is no. 1 of only four copies (only two were illustrated); it belonged to the artist and publisher himself. Meant to introduce the work of the Belgian surrealist painter to a small circle of Czech artists, the book reproduces Budík's own translation of the French original essay, which was published in Anvers in 1948. Along with twenty-one reproductions of paintings by Delvaux, presumably photographed from the original book and thus accompanied by their own blurred aura of reproduction. Not located in KVK, OCLC.

New York, Doubleday, 1965. First Edition. First Impression. Hardback. A very good copy. An uncommon book. Some wear to the jacket including a couple of short tears to the folds, spine tips a little crushed and worn. Orange on spine faded and a touch worn. Price overlay to front flap (not an issue point [Currey p127]). Previously of the outstanding collection of Ronald E. Graham with his plate (designed by Virgil Finlay) and (I assume) his reference sticker to the front endpaper - Graham was a fan and had an extensive collection. Charles Bukowski
his is a beautiful book produced by LouJon Press in New Orleans in 1965. The book itself is a work of art, hand printed with individual stocks of high-quality paper. A total of 3,100 copies were printed, each signed by Charles Bukowski. The book is every bit a piece of art as the Charles Bukowski poetry it contains. But what makes this copy special is the original artwork by Bukowski and the inscription with the date and time. It's rare to find a book where Bukowski included the date with his signature. I have never seen an inscription with the exact time. Bukowski signed 95 percent of these books while writing the poems for this book in New Orleans on a three-week binge. The most desirable copies included artwork by Bukowski. It's hard to say what he was depicting in this drawing, but based on other copies I've seen, it's the architecture in the French Quarter. This is a true collector's copy. This copy does not include the original book band, which many copies do not. But it is in Near Fine condition with a small tear to the delicate fold on one spine. See pics. I specialize in Charles Bukowski books only. I am selling a wide variety of Bukowski items that will fit any budget and are all very collectible. I can also help you independently verify any of the items I sell so there will be no disappointments. [Attributes: First Edition]

John Lennon
UK: Cape, 1965. 1st Edition 1965. A lovely example of Lennon's second book with his autograph/signed name to the endpaper. Very rare book to be signed and un-dedicated. John Lennon's autograph at the height of Beatle mania was very difficult to obtain. His previous book 'In His Own Write' had a signing session at Foyles in 1964 so the book appears more regular albeit as a reprint. He did not undertake any such commercial signing sessions for this book so they very rarely appear on the open market. Excellent provenance will be made available when purchased. Book is near fine and in lovely square tight condition. Nice sharp corners. A few very light foxing spots to odd pages. Pages very nice and clean. Never issued with a wrapper. A cracking example. More images can be taken upon request. Ref 9312. Signed by Author. First Edition. Original Board. Near Fine. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Lennon, John
Jonathan Cape, London, 1965. First edition of John Lennon's second book, a collection of stories and drawings published in the same style as 1964's In His Own Write. Small octavo, original pictorial boards, illustrated. Presentation copy, inscribed by John Lennon on the front free endpaper, "For Noel Coward, John Lennon." The recipient, English playwright, director and actor Noel Coward's songs, plays, and films were immensely popular from the early 1920s through the 60s and 70s when they achieved renewed fame and critical acclaim with a variety of new revues celebrating his music, including Oh, Coward! on Broadway and Cowardy Custard in London. Coward won an Academy Honorary Award in 1943 for his naval film drama 'In Which We Serve', was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 1969, and received a Tony Award for lifetime achievement in 1970. With Coward's bookplate to the pastedown. In fine condition. Beatles biographer Bill Harry wrote that Lennon began drawing and writing creatively at an early age with the encouragement of his uncle. His love of wordplay and nonsense with a twist found a wider audience when he was 24 with the publication of his first book, In His Own Write (1964) which, in combination with A Spaniard in the Works, later formed the basis of the stage play The John Lennon Play: In His Own Write, co-adapted by Victor Spinetti and Adrienne Kennedy. 1965. Condition: Very Good. Extremely rare item for the serious Andy Warhol collector. Exhibition catalogue May 1965 and invitation for opening dated May 12th 1965 5.5" square 12 pages. 1 one-color (blue) silkprint on offset, yellow endpapers. Text in French by Otto Hahn. Wrappers. Stapled bound. Galerie Ileana Sonnabend, Paris, 1965. Includes the invitation card, printed on one side in blue silkprint. Very rare and early catalogue with the opening announcement card, May 12, 1965. Fine condition with tiny amount of rust on staples. Please look carefully at photographs - I can supply more - and feel free to ask any questions. It was at the opening of the Flowers show at the Ileana Sonnabend Gallery (37 Quai des Grandes-Augustins, Paris) that Warhol's comment about being a retired artist was picked up by a journalist by The New York Times. In Popism Warhol's casual comment is given the significance of an important announcement that the artist had been thinking about making for a considerable time: "I was having so much fun in Paris that I decided it was the place to make the announcement I'd been thinking about making for months: I was going to retire from painting." The announcement has been likened to Marcel Duchamp's retirement from art during the 1920s. In reality, neither artist stopped producing work. The owner of the Paris gallery, Ileana Sonnabend, was the ex-wife of Leo Castelli and had first visited Warhol on September 18, 1962, with her first consignment from the artist dated October 7, 1962. In May 1963 some of the consigned works were included in a group show at … [Click Below for Full Description]

Ben-Gurion, David
1965. Autograph letter signed by the founder of modern day Israel and first Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion regarding his controversial meeting with Angelica Balabanoff, a close associate of Benito Mussolini. Addressed to German-Israeli Holocaust survivor Walter Zvi Barak and dated October 26, 1968, the letter translated from Hebrew into English reads, "Shalom and greetings. I learned of the photograph only from your letter. Indeed, I exchanged a letter with Ms. Balabanova, but I do not remember ever meeting her or being photographed with her. I know that Mussolini was once a socialist. I would not have been ashamed to have a picture taken together with Balabanova, but as far as I can recall, I never met her, and in any case, I do not know how this picture got into a book about Mussolini. It is very possible that this is not my photograph, but I see no crime in being photographed with Ms. Balabanova. Yours sincerely..." Accompanied by the letter from Walter Zvi Barak to which Ben-Gurion is replying which reads, "As a man who is professionally engaged in teaching and studying the history of the new era, I have recently come across a finding that forced me to draw your attention to. I have purchased the book: Mussolini - a Study in Power by Ivone Kirkpatrick Pocket book, Disensbooks published by arrow books Febr-1968.
