        Paesaggi di Donna

Milano: Bruno Alfieri Editore, 1965. Prima edizione (First edition). ril mezza tela (half-cloth binding). Ottimo (Fine). 8vo. Catalogo ansiosamente: seni, dorso, occhi, labbra, denti luccicanti.

        In Cold Blood

New York: Random House, 1965. Prima edizione (First Edition, First Impression). ril tela, sovrac (cloth, DJ). Ottimo (Fine). 8vo. Dust jacket has price of $5.95 on upper right of front flap, 1/66 at lower right corner of front flap [Galati, 1980; Tartarus, 2007]

London: Faber (1965). 1st edition, full red boards, with printed dust jacket. The British poet Anthony Thwaite's personal copy, with his ownership signature to the first FEP. Thwaite, Plath, and Ted Hughes (whom Thwaite interviewed for the BBC in January 1963) were contemporaries. They were all published together in the "New Poems" section of the February 1962 issue of THE LONDON MAGAZINE (Vol 1, No 11), a copy of which is included in the present offering. Peter K. Steinberg states, in his excellent biography SYLVIA PLATH (Chelsea House, Great Writers Series, 2004, p. 2), "The book that first brought her (Plath) to prominence was her second collection of poetry, posthumously assembled and published as ARIEL in 1965." Both of the publications, ARIEL and THE LONDON MAGAZINE, are housed in a custom archival box. Only minimal wear to the books. A unique contemporary association copy.

        Feste religiose in Sicilia

Bari: Leonardo Da Vinci, 1965. Prima edizione (First edition). ril tela, sovrac (cloth, DJ). Ottimo (Fine). 16mo.

I Love You, I Hate You, Drop Dead!: Variations on a Theme

New York: Fleet Publishing Corporation. (1965). First. First edition. A couple of stains on the boards, a good or better copy in supplied, near fine dustwrapper. Inscribed by the musician to Carol Southern, wife of Shaw's very close friend, Terry Southern: "To Carol - Since we've already got Terry-Baby on the back, here you are, right in front - With love - Artie Shaw 4/16/65." The first of five blurbs that appear on the rear panel of the jacket is from Terry Southern. Shaw was particularly drawn to literary circles and, according to his biographer Tom Nolan, he "savored most of all his acquaintanceship with authors," including Southern. The two had became close friends when Southern returned to the U.S. in 1959. They were both looking for homes in East Canaan, Connecticut and Southern actually talked Shaw into letting him buy the house that Shaw had already put a deposit on. When Shaw retired from music, which he did several times during his long career, it was primarily to write. .

THE MOON IS A HARSH MISTRESS ~ True First Edition [serialized in 5 parts]

Galaxy Publishing Corporation, New York 1965 - Very scarce full collection of the True First Edition/First Printing of Robert A. Heinlein's seminal work, 'The Moon is a Harsh Mistress'. Before the book version was published by Putnam in mid-1966, the novel was published in serial form (as many of this country's most famous novels have been, such as 'Huckleberry Finn'). This collection consists of a Heinlein aficionado's best copies of the 5-issue set of the "Worlds of IF" periodical (December 1965 & January, February, March, and April 1966). Copies in Very Good Plus condition: SEE SCAN ENLARGED. These issues are in exceptionally good condition (other sellers would state 'Near Fine') with NO creasing or tears and only a few have the tiniest of rubbing wear (shelf wear). Ordinarily these are heavily age-toned internally but these have been protected in plastic for many years and the pages are actually quite bright with minimal age-toning. Only minor flaws exist: Jan66 & Feb66 have small p.o. name on first page, one written, one stamped; Mar66 has small spot on rear panel where staple protrudes; Feb66 & Apr 66 have very thin bands of age-toning around the cover edges. These are all small imperfections in an excellent set which took years to assemble. Again, see the scan enlarged. One of the most important science fiction novels ever written, in its first ever printing.Ships in a box with padding. [Attributes: Soft Cover]
