        Signed Photograph

New Haven, CT, 1935. unbound. Exceptional and very scarce 10 x 8-inch sepia-tone photograph, New Haven, Connecticut, circa 1935, with a personalized sticker on the back, indicating that the photo was indeed sent by Fisher. Boldly signed with outstanding contrast; very good condition. Considered one of the greatest economists of the 20th century, Fisher is responsible for the "Theory of Interest and Capital," which is still taught in universities to this day. John Kenneth Galbraith called Fisher "the earliest and most influential Neo-Classical Economist in the United States." Some worldwide concepts named after Fisher include The Fisher Equation, the Fisher Hypothesis, International Fisher Effect, and the Federal Reserve Bank's Fisher Separation Theorem.

Lady De Rothschild and Her Daughters 1821-1931

John Murray, London, 1935, Hard Cover, Book Condition: Fair, First EditionSize: 8vo - over 7?" - 9?" tall, 354 pages. pages. Index. Black and white plates. Multi-panel fold-out family tree at back. "Light is thrown from a fresh angle on Disraeli and his erratic wife, as well as on Thackeray, all three friends of the family. There are glimpses of Louis Napoleon and the disturbances of 1848 and of 1870, of the Austrian Court in 1873, and of three generations of our own royal family. In their letters and conversations we find characteristic traits of Mr. Gladstone, Lord Rosebery, and their Liberal supporters, and of Burne-Jones and Meredith, and other artists and writers.... The Rothschild family in its earlier days appeals to the imagination by its financial power, which brought it into contact with those who ruled the destinies of Europe and by its munificence; while its Judaism and the peculiar features of its solidarity make the family history interesting and, in some ways, unique." - from Preface. Considerable wear and staining to blue cloth exterior. Gift greetings inside front board. Prior owner's name atop front free endpaper. Binding tender but intact. A worthy reference copy of this important work.

EXPLICACIÓN DE OCTUBRE. Historia Comprimida de Cuatro Años de República en España.

Imprenta Garcigoy,, Madrid 1935 - 12.5x17. 203pp. 2h. John Wisden's Cricketers' Almanack for 1935 - Wisden - Hardback

1935 - Hi, This lot is a 1935 Original Hardback Wisden in Very Good Condition, excellent for the year.Wisden changed materials in 1933 and the quality of the books suffered as a result, hence why 1933-1936 seem a lot more faded than the early 1920s Hardbacks. There are two parts to this book, the average outside but the wonderful inside. The gilt to the front and spine is ever so slightly fading as per the year and the boards are dulled, this book however is a lot better than an average 1935.Odd mark to the boards and small crease and a small rubberband mark to the edge, small nick to spine cloth (dot sized).Internally it is one of the nicest 1935s I have seen, fabulous hinges and very clean and bright yellow pastedowns and titlepage.Internally very good without restoration with an excellent photoplate. Please see the large pictures, taken with and without the flash.More available on request.Buy-it-now.

        The Green Corn Rebellion

New York: Vanguard Press. (1935). First. First edition. Two modest stamps from a Brooklyn camera shop on the front pastedown, else fine in an attractive, very good dustwrapper with a thin triangular chip on the spine removing some of the lettering from the title, and some other modest wear at the extremities. The author's first book, an antiwar novel based on the abortive 1917 rebellion (called the Green Corn Rebellion in the War Department archives) of Oklahoma farmers who plotted to rebel against the draft and America's entrance into the First World War, and to march on Washington and form a cooperative commonwealth, and the tragic consequences to those who participated in it. Cunningham was a major influence on his protege and friend at the Oklahoma Writer's Project, Jim Thompson. Thompson's admiration for this novel and friendship with Cunningham precipitated his being hired at the Project, where he succeeded Cunningham as Director. Cunningham was also the head of the Communist Party in Oklahoma during some of the 1930s, and according to one source Cunningham arranged for Jim Thompson to join the local chapter so that Thompson could get a loan from the cell and buy a car in which to travel from Oklahoma to California. Cunningham's style, influence, and some of the episodes from this novel are reflected in Thompson's later writing. This novel was cited by Walter B. Rideout in his definitive study, The Radical Novel in the United States. All copies of The Green Corn Rebellion are exceptionally uncommon, and in jacket they are flat out rare. .
