Willa Cather
Riverside Press Cambridge MA: Houghton Mifflin, 1918. Rare, Very Good, Not a x-library copy! Condition: This rare book is in very good condition. There is minor wear at the corners and spine ends and some shelf rub to the rear board, nothing is frayed. There is a slight spine lean with some binders glue release under the upper spine bridge. Inside you may say a gutter is just starting to crack but that would be under tough scrutiny. Both end papers are intact and a small gift inscription from the X-mas of 1918 proves, even further, that this was one of the 3000 first issue books from October - December of 1918. Please view this in a comparison that we took from a later printing in our collection. Some of the pages have some age tone and other than what's stated are free from foxing, moisture, tears, creases, and all marks and stains! Rest assured you will receive this book in its stated condition from an honest experienced book dealer! Please see our feedback on how we handle and ship our books! About This Copy: Illustrations by W. T. Benda. Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1918. Original brown cloth lettered in light orange. First run (with the illustrations on coated paper, rather than on text paper). This was Cather's second great novel of immigrant life on the Nebraska frontier, following O PIONEERS! of 1913. It tells of a Bohemian immigrant girl's life there, and of the pioneer strength that carries her through numerous adversities. Cather took a major role in the production of this book, choosing the illustrator and negotiating with Houghton Mifflin rega … [Click Below for Full Description]

This 1918 Wisden original hardback is in truly fine condition. The front and rear boards are immaculate and the gilt to the front board and spine is in really bright un-restored condition. The spine itself is in really tremendous condition. If you were being really picky the top and bottom of the spine are very very slightly bumped. The front and rear yellow pages are in as new condition and the front and rear hinges are immaculate. The contents are in almost as new condition. Once again a tremendous copy. We hope to list over the next few weeks a number of fine pre-war publisher s hardbacks including issues for the 1890 s and the First World War and several years from the 1860 s and 1870 s all in fine condition. Please keep a look out for them. [Attributes: Hard Cover]

[s.n.], Paris, 1918. First edition. Printed on laid paper, untrimmed as published. One bifolio. Scarce catalogue for the first exhibition of Matisse and Picasso, with the introduction of Apollinaire. Silent Movies]
1918. The 72 gelatin silver photographs (255 x 205 mm or the reverse) are loosely inserted on both sides of album leaves (in diagonal slits in the corners designed for the purpose). Studio stamps and manuscript captions on the versos suggest that there is a connection with the contents of the album and a contemporary Sydney advertising agency. One example should suffice: an image inscribed in ink on the verso 'Olga Petrova in her second Paramount masterplay "Exile" showing tomorrow and all next week at Hoyts' is reproduced with a similar caption on page 24 of the Sydney 'Sunday Times', 10 March 1918. Apart from a few corner creases or chips, the contents are in fine condition, housed in a contemporary scrap album (a little worn, with the spine later renewed with tape).

GUILLAUME (Paul).
Paris, Les Arts à Paris, 1918. 27 x 18,5 cm, 12 p. 4 illustrations n.&b.
