Jahrbuch 1979; Nissen, Zool. 1783 This is an oversized or heavy book that requires additional postage for international delivery outside of Canada and the US.

Kunstformen der Natur (German for Art Forms of Nature) is a book of lithographic and autotype prints by German biologist Ernst Haeckel. Originally published in sets of ten between 1899 and 1904 and collectively in two volumes in 1904, it consists of 100 prints of various organisms, many of which were first described by Haeckel himself. Over the course of his career, over 1000 engravings were produced based on Haeckel's sketches and watercolors; many of the best of these were chosen for Kunstformen der Natur, translated from sketch to print by lithographer Adolf Giltsch.
According to Haeckel scholar Olaf Breidbach (the editor of modern editions of Kunstformen), the work was "not just a book of illustrations but also the summation of his view of the world." The over-riding themes of the Kunstformen plates are symmetry and organization. The subjects were selected to embody organization, from the scale patterns of boxfishes to the spirals of ammonites to the perfect symmetries of jellies and microorganisms, while images composing each plate are arranged for maximum visual impact. Among the notable prints are numerous radiolarians, which Haeckel helped to popularize among amateur microscopists; at least one example is found in almost every set of 10. Cnidaria also feature prominently throughout the book, including sea anemones as well as Siphonophorae, Semaeostomeae, and other medusae.
Kunstformen der Natur was influential in early 20th-century art, architecture, and design, bridging the gap between science and art. In particular, many artists associated with Art Nouveau were influenced by Haeckel's images, including René Binet, Karl Blossfeldt, Hans Christiansen, and Emile Galle. One prominent example is the Amsterdam Commodities Exchange designed by Hendrik Petrus Berlage, which was in part inspired by Kunstformen illustrations.

On the conversion of electric oscillations into continuous currents by means of a vacuum valve. By J.A.Fleming, ... Received January 24,-Read February 9, 1905 (pp.476-487, 4 Abb.).

. Proc. roy. Soc., 74 (1904/1905). - London, Harrison and Sons, April 1905, 8°, IX, (1), 580 pp., zahlr. - Im vollständigen Band der "Proceedings", enthält von Fleming noch "On an instrument for the measurement of the length of long electric waves" (pp.488-498, mit 5 Abb.). - - First edition. In November 1904, Fleming invented the two-electrode vacuum-tube rectifier, which he called the oscillation valve - the device that gave birth to modern electronics. "This was the first electron tube, the diode, ancestor of the triode and the other multielectronic tubes which have played such an important role in both telecommunications and scientific instrumentation". - "On the basis of subsequent studies, Rudolf A.Fick (1886-1939) concluded that the theory of "Normalstellung" was not entirely valid, as the recumbent position of a cadaver could not be transfered to the vertical stance. The degree of limbar lordosis is much less when the body is recumbent than when vertical; in the later position the center of gravity shifts forward considerably more than Braune and Fischer assumed. Fick contended that no one posture is common for people of all races and cultures. Modern anthropological investigations have confirmed his opinion." ct.
