MEMORIA SOBRE LAS PROPORCIONES NATURALES DE LAS PROVINCIAS INTERNAS OCCIDENTALES, CAUSAS DE QUE HAN PROVENIDO SUS ATRASOS, PROVIDENCIAS TOMADAS CON EL FIN DE LOGRAR SU REMEDIO, Y LAS QUE POR AHORA SE CONSIDERAN OPORTUNAS PARA MEJORAR SU ESTADO, E IR PROPORCIONANDO SU FUTURA FELICIDAD

[Mexico City], 1822. Small quarto. Modern speckled calf, red gilt morocco label. Old ink stain on titlepage, not affecting text; two small worm holes, each about typeface size throughout. Else near fine. On April 11, 1822 the last Spanish flag flying in Mexican territory was removed from the plaza at Monterey. Iturbide's declaration of independence, and the subsequent bloodless transfer of power, left the new government in Mexico in dire need of information regarding the various regions of the new nation. The present book, submitted to the administrative authorities in Mexico City on July 1, 1822, only two months after independence, attempts to communicate such information as was needed to govern the western provinces, most notably Sonora and New Mexico. It contains far-reaching recommendations on how to administer the region politically, militarily, and economically. The report begins with a description of the provinces and their capitals, including Santa Fe. The essential recommendation is for greater local control over the regions. Riezgo proposes that the military chiefs live within the provinces under their jurisdiction, and that they have wide discretionary powers within the limits of the constitution. Locations for regional governmental centers are suggested, and recommendations are made for increased military fortifications. Riezgo discusses the trade between Santa Fe and St. Louis, recommends that New Mexico be exempt from taxes on trade for a period of five years, and assesses the threat to trade posed by Comanche raids. He also makes suggestions concerning the role of the clergy in the region, and reforms in the educational system. "An extremely rare work in full description of the regions at the time of Independence, with much on the natural resources, settlements, Indians, future possibilities, etc." - Eberstadt. We cannot trace another copy of this work in the marketplace. It contains more detailed information than the more famous accounts of Pino and Escuerdo, one published a decade before, the other published a decade after, this work. Neither Thomas W. Streeter nor Everett D. Graff were able to secure a copy of this report. A wide-ranging early Mexican administrative report, and an exceptional southwestern rarity.

PUERTO RICO: Isla de Puerto Rico por el Teniente Coronel Capitan de Ingenieros D. Francisco Coello, las notas estadisticas e historicas han sido escritas por D. Pascual Madoz.

      - Coello’s scarce and large-format production represents the most important mapping of Puerto Rico of the 19th Century. Autor: Francisco COELLO de Portugal y Quesada (1822-1898). Place and Year: Madrid, 1851. Technique: Copper engraving with partial original outline colour, folding into original cloth and pastedown covers (very good, surface overall clean, some very mild staining to one horizontal fold, some minor separation at fold vertices and a few folds since stabili Code: 62376 Copper engraving with partial original outline colour, folding into original cloth and pastedown covers (very good, surface overall clean, some very mild staining to one horizontal fold, some minor separation at fold vertices and a few folds since stabilized, corners with tackmarks with minor loss to blank lower-left corner, some abrasions with minor surface loss to pastedowns on covers), 80 x 106 cm. This large and fascinating map sheet features the first accurate and comprehensive general cartographic overview of Puerto Rico. It showcases 10 maps, carefully selected from the best sources and edited by Francisco Coello, along with text by Pascual Madoz that provides a detailed description of the island. The map sheet was one of the most important elements of Coello’s monumental project to map Spain and her overseas dependencies, Atlas de Espana y sus posesiones de Ultramar. The quality of the cartography and the clean, crisp design is superlative, being a true masterpiece of 19th Century cartography. All of maps of the composition are highly detailed, based on the latest advanced surveys and feature sophisticated topographical information and copious hydrographic data. The centre of the map sheet features the excellent general topographical map of the island, ‘Isla de Puerto-Rico’; the regional map showing the position of the island within the Greater Antilles, ‘Situacion de la Isla de Puerto-Rico’; and a highly detailed urban plan of the capital, ‘S. Juan de Puerto-Rico’. The upper left corner features the a detailed rendering of the environs of the island’s second city, ‘Contornos de Ponce’, while below are the insets ‘Contornos de Mayagüez’ and ‘Ensenada de Aguadilla’. In the lower right of the composition is an inset detailing the capital region, ‘Contornos de San Juan de Puerto-Rico’, in addition to two small town plans, ‘Puerto de Guanica’ and ‘Contornos de Isabel Segunda de Vieques’. In the upper-right corner of the sheet is an attractive map of the far east of the main island and the adjacent isles, ‘Islas Culebra y Vieques y canals entre ellas y Puerto-Rico’. The lengthy descriptive text that adorns the map sheet, written by Pascual Madoz, presents a fascinating essay on the demographics, economy, history and geography of Puerto Rico, backed by the most authoritative statistical evidence yet assembled. Unlike most such descriptions on maps of the period, Madoz’s prose is quite lucid and provides a most pleasant and edifying read. Coello had a major challenge on his hands in devising the present map sheet featuring accurate geographical impression of Puerto Rico and its key regions. While the eminent cartographer Cosme Damián de Churruca y Elorza, had surveyed much of coastal Puerto Rico to an extremely high standard from 1792 to 1794, no overall accurate general map had since come into being. Coello had to methodically sift through the best regional and skeleton maps in the official archives and work his contacts to acquire high quality maps from which he could piece together an accurate and complete portrait of the island. In the ‘Advertencia’ (in the upper left of the map), Coello notes that he consulted numerous printed and manuscript maps. Of particular importance was a general map of Puerto Rico drafted in 1831 by Don Antonio Cordero, located in the Deposito Hidrografico; an excellent survey of Mayagüez, Ponce and Isabel Segunda de Vieques by Lieutenant Colonel Manuel Soriano; and a magnificent manuscript map of the far eastern end of

DESCRIPTION OF DUNLAP'S PAINTING OF THE CHRIST REJECTED [caption title]

[N.p., 1822. Lightly and evenly toned. Some light soiling, minor foxing; small hole in top corner, not affecting text. Manuscript notation on verso. Good plus. Broadside describing William Dunlap's painting, CHRIST REJECTED (1822), with a line noting that admission is 25 cents, though a ticket "admitting the bearer at all times during the Exhibition" is 50 cents. Dunlap (1766-1839) was a dramatist, historian, and painter, authoring numerous stage plays and managing a theatre company. Born in New Jersey, the son of a merchant, Dunlap had little formal schooling but trained as a painter, eventually studying with Benjamin West. While in London, however, he primarily reveled in the theatre scene, writing and producing his first play in 1787 upon his return to New York. He became a managing partner in the American Company in 1796, an organization which eventually went bankrupt. Though he returned officially to his painting career, he flirted with the theatre on and off for financial reasons until 1811, though he continued to write plays. "As his principal biographer, Oral Sumner Coad, has noted, Dunlap was a man of moderate innate talent but of seemingly unlimited versatility, energy, and enthusiasm, who participated in practically all of the significant cultural activities of his day" - ANB. He is considered to be one of the fathers of American drama. He also wrote several histories on the American theatre and the first book on the history of the fine arts in the United States, HISTORY OF THE ARTS OF DESIGN. During the 1820s, Dunlap produced a series of large- scale exhibition paintings based on the life of Christ, among which is the painting described in the present broadside. "The picture represents the events which took place when Pilate brought forth Jesus from the Judgment Hall to the Pavement crowned with thorns, and in the gorgeous robe with which he had been arrayed by Herod." The broadside goes on to described the various groups of people assembled and their place amongst the throng on the canvas. All of Dunlap's large exhibition paintings have perished and are known only through descriptions such as this, excepting CHRIST REJECTED, which is also known in one small-scale study located at the Princeton Art Museum.

Nouvelle-Hollande. Vue De La Riviere Waragamba, Dans Les Montagnes-Bleues, Au Port-Jackson.

Paris: 1822. Hand-coloured engraving, 190 x 270 mm., mounted. Early view of Warragamba River in the lower Blue Mountains, the site of Sydney's ever important Warragamba Dam from the official published account of the major French voyage of 1817-1820 to Australia and the Pacific commanded by Louis de Freycinet. The French took considerable interest in the penal colony at Port Jackson, and Freycinet was astounded by the growth of the settlement and the quality of the architecture he encountered, having previously visited Sydney Cove as an officer on the Baudin voyage of 1800-1804. This fine view reflects the curiosity of the French visitors who enjoyed warm hospitality now that Britain and France were at peace and could inspect the settlement unhindered.

VIEW NEAR FORT MONTGOMERY. No. 18 OF The Hudson River Port Folio

New York, 1822. Very good. Superb example of one of the greatest and earliest works devoted to the American landscape. Wall and Hill demonstrate in this view their great talent for investing apparently simple and random scenes with grandeur and intrigue. The focal point of the image is an unadorned raft with a number of men shown from so far away that there no distinguishing individual characteristics: they are mere figures floating down the calm, mirror-like river. The hills that slope down into the river are reflected to such a degree that it's hard to discern exactly where the hills stops and the reflection begins. The succession of hills and the river recede into the distance beneath a grey sky, also reflected in the river. The hills, river and sky seem to have a quiet liveliness of quite a different order than that of the active little figures on the raft. "THE HUDSON RIVER PORTFOLIO, a series of twenty views…celebrates the beauty of the Hudson and its surroundings. It is amongst the finest collections of New York State views ever published...The aquatints show us the region of the Hudson's headwaters, the rapids it creates on its journey downstream, the bridges it makes imperative overhead, the trade that its navigability spawns, and, most of all, the ennobling topographic settings through which it passes. In the final view, New York from Governor's Island, we see the Hudson at the end of its journey, where it joins the East River in New York Bay…William Guy Wall...was a native of Dublin who came to America in 1818...Beginning in 1826, he exhibited frequently at the National Academy of Design...[He was skilful with atmospheric perspective in his landscapes, and he created almost spiritual effects with light, at a time when viewers were used to literal depictions. Between 1828 and 1835 he remained in America, but then returned to Dublin for twenty years. He came back to America for four years between 1856 and 1860, before again returning in Ireland where he lived for the remaining four years of his life] Wall frequently worked in tandem with John Hill, whose emigration from England predated that of Wall by two years...According to Koke, 'the artistic achievement for which Hill is best known...was the Hudson River Portfolio, a landscape series closely akin to the Picturesque Views of American Scenery recently finished for the Careys' (JOHN HILL MASTER OF AQUATINT, p.86)...Hill, an aquatintist virtually without peer in America, was called in to fill the place vacated by John Rubens Smith, who dissociated himself from the PORTFOLIO before he finished engraving the four plates of the first number...Hill belonged to a small group of English-trained engravers who raised the level of American print-making to an extraordinary degree" (Deák, pp.217-218). Second state of three (with number "18" added in manuscript to title).

THE DUPLICATE LETTERS, THE FISHERIES AND THE MISSISSIPPI. DOCUMENTS RELATING TO TRANSACTIONS AT THE NEGOTIATION OF GHENT

Washington, 1822. Contemporary three-quarter calf and marbled boards, gilt morocco label (half chipped away). Boards rubbed, spine chipped and worn, front board nearly detached. Text tanned and foxed. Good. In a folding tooled leather box, gilt leather labels. A wonderful association copy, connecting John Quincy Adams and Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson was America's first Secretary of State and, as the country's third president, concluded the Louisiana Purchase, a diplomatic coup of the first order. John Quincy Adams, arguably America's greatest diplomatic mind, was Secretary of State from 1817 to 1825, before going on to serve as president himself, from 1825 to 1829. This book is Adams' examination of the role he played in the negotiation of the Treaty of Ghent, which resolved the War of 1812, a conflict with roots in Thomas Jefferson's presidency. This volume was in Jefferson's final library (formed between selling his second collection to the Library of Congress in 1815 and his death in 1826), and was sold at the dispersal of those books in 1829, where it was bought by a Virginia lawyer and acquaintance of Jefferson, John Peyton. John Quincy Adams compiled the documents which make up this book while he was Secretary of State, two years before he was elected president. In 1822, Adams faced mounting criticism surrounding his actions in 1814, when he was among the American negotiators who concluded the Treaty of Ghent. Adams responded with this volume, in which he brings together the correspondence and reports of the negotiations he conducted with the British to resolve the War of 1812. As ever, Adams was very sensitive to criticism, and this exhaustively defends his work. British depredations against American shipping and the American Navy (including the impressment of sailors) were constant pre-occupations of Thomas Jefferson's presidency, and they were among the root causes of the War of 1812 (prosecuted by Jefferson's successor, James Madison). Jefferson was also passionately concerned about American access to the Mississippi River, and this desire was one of his major motivations in concluding the Louisiana Purchase, the outstanding achievement of his presidency. That subject is also discussed in this book, making it of even greater interest to Jefferson. On October 11, 1822, Adams wrote to Thomas Jefferson presenting him with this copy of his book. Adams wrote: "Dear Sir, I have taken the liberty of transmitting to you a pamphlet which I have felt a necessity of giving to the public. So far as it involves a mere personal controversy I should not have thought it worthy of being presented to you. [?] much of it I would request of you the favour to overlook. Nor after the recent manifestation of the public sentiment on this subject would this collection of documents have appeared, but for the questions of general interest to the Union implicated in the discussion, and which as affecting the welfare of our country, I know can never be objects of indifference to you. It is from this motive that I am induced to ask your acceptance of the volume, and avail myself of the occasion to renew the tender of my sincere veneration." Jefferson responded to Adams with a letter from Monticello dated October 23. He returned "his thanks to Mr. Adams for the copy of the Ghent Documents which he has been so kind as to send him. So far as concerns Mr. Adams personally, the respect and esteem of the public for him was too firmly and justly fixed to need this appeal to them. But the volume is a valuable gift to his fellow citizens generally, and especially to the future historian whom it will enable to give correct ideas of the views of that treaty and to do justice to the abilities with which it was negotiated. He begs leave to salute Mr. Adams with assurances of his highest esteem and respect." Books from Jefferson's library are usually identifiable by Jefferson's method of putting a manuscript "T" before the "I" signature mark in a gathering (the letter "J" not being commonly used), and a "J" following the "T" signature mark. The present book is not signed in letters, but in numbers, and so Jefferson has written his "T" before the signature numbered "1", as was his custom in such volumes. This book was lot 691 in Nathaniel P. Poor's catalogue of Thomas Jefferson's library, sold at auction in Washington commencing February 27, 1829. It was purchased at that sale by John H. Peyton, whose ownership signature is on the front pastedown. John Howe Peyton (1778-1847) was born in Virginia, attended the College of New Jersey (now Princeton), and practiced law in his native state. He was a correspondent of Thomas Jefferson, served in the Virginia House of Delegates, and from 1839 to 1845 in the State Senate. Peyton also bought the preceding lot in the Jefferson library sale (the REPORT OF THE CONVENTION OF NEW YORK, lot 690 in the Poor sale), and he probably bought others. Peyton's provenance, and Jefferson's characteristic mark, firmly establish this as the copy Adams gave Jefferson, and the one that was on Jefferson's shelves in his final library when he died. An outstanding association copy, linking two of America's most bibliophilic presidents to a book whose subject was of great personal and political interest to them both.

[AUTOGRAPH DOCUMENT, SIGNED WITH INITIALS, IN WHICH JOHN TRUMBULL AGREES TO USE HIS PAINTING, "THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE," AS COLLATERAL FOR A LOAN]

[New York], 1822. Quarto sheet. Old fold lines. Bottom third separated at fold. Minor wear. Good plus. A remarkable document written by American artist John Trumbull, utilizing his original painting, "The Declaration of Independence," as collateral to secure a loan from the Bank of New York. This document, addressed to Charles Wilkes as the cashier of the Bank of New York, reads in part: "Now therefore, being desirous to Secure him as far as is in my power against loss by the uncertainty of Life & prosperity, I do hereby hypothecate & pledge to him the sd. Charles Wilkes the Senate painting of the declaration of Independence now in the hands of Mr. [Asher Brown] Durand the Engraver and also the Copper plate which He is engraving from the Same as collateral Security for any Sum which he may hazard by any accident befalling me. And this pledge shall remain in full force until all and every Note or Notes which He may have endorsed for me shall be paid & Cancelled." Trumbull is referring to his original painting of this famous event, which was begun in Paris at the suggestion of Thomas Jefferson. Trumbull was later commissioned by the Congress to paint a twelve-by-eighteen-foot version based on this original. The larger painting was sold to Congress in 1819, so it is almost certainly the original smaller version that remained in Trumbull's possession (now at Yale University Art Gallery) that was being used as collateral for a loan. Hailed as the official painter of the Revolution, Trumbull studied painting and art in England and France. The youngest son of the governor of Connecticut, the elder John Trumbull very much wanted his son to go into law. Trumbull did study the law, but gladly joined the fight against the British when the Revolution broke out. He eventually served as Washington's second aide-de-camp, having been brought to the General's attention through some very accurate drawings he had made of British gun emplacements. He rose to the rank of colonel as a deputy adjutant-general, but he resigned the commission he finally received because it was dated three months late, a slight his honor could not tolerate. He refused to return to the law, finding it distasteful, and chose instead to pursue his true passion, art, against his family's wishes. Though he was never wealthy in this pursuit, he did achieve a certain amount of success in his own lifetime. Among his most famous works are those commissioned in 1817 by Congress to adorn the Capitol: "The Surrender of General Burgoyne at Saratoga," "The Surrender of General Cornwallis at Yorktown," "The Declaration of Independence," and "The Resignation of General Washington." Charles Wilkes (1764-1833) was promoted to president of the Bank of New York in 1825, a position he held until his retirement in 1832. Engraver Asher B. Durand (1796- 1886) made his name with his 1823 engraving of Trumbull's "Declaration." He turned to painting in the 1830s and helped to found the Hudson River School movement. The original "Declaration of Independence," redeemed from loan, was later part of Trumbull's founding gift to the Yale University Art Gallery.

Moderate toning and light foxing to text, internally clean. * Sanderson, a 31-year old poacher caught in the act by a gamekeeper, was married and the father of young children. His harrowing pre-execution letters to his wife are reprinted in full. Sample excerpt: "Good bye, my love, I shall carry your last look at me to the fatal tree. Kiss my dear children for me, and tell them their father is gone to heaven." The other three defendants were tried and convicted of the murder of John Timms by throwing him from a bridge into the River Trent. This pamphlet is designated the second edition, but we did not locate a first or any other edition. (The British Library has a single folio sheet recounting these trials, but its title is very different.) No copies located on OCLC.

        The Persian Moonshee.

London: sold by J. M. Richardson and J. Sams,, 1822. Abridged by William Carmichael Smyth. Small quarto (215 × 130 mm). Late 19th-century green half calf, raised bands to spine with ropework fillets gilt, tan morocco label lettered in gilt to second compartment, marbled sides, edges speckled red, pink endpapers. Folding verb table. Two contemporary ownership inscriptions to title-page and one later to front pastedown. Extremities slightly rubbed, spine sunned, contents lightly toned with occasional faint spotting as usual, tan-burn to endpapers from turn-ins, infrequent interlinear annotations in pencil. A very good copy. Second London edition of Gladwin's Persian grammar, and the first edited by noted Hindustani scholar Carmichael Smyth; scarce, with just three copies in British and Irish institutional libraries (Oxford, Cambridge and Aberdeen). Part II comprises a series of illustrative "Hikayati Luteef" (perhaps "sweet stories"), with Part III, "Phrases and dialogues in Persian and English", excised for this edition. The "Moonshee" (a term derived from the Persian "munshi", an honorific given to skilled linguists and clerks) was first published in Calcutta in 1795. "The most frequently published author in late eighteenth-century Calcutta, Gladwin was responsible for dictionaries and vocabularies, translations of Persian histories, collections of stories and revenue accounts, treatises on medicine and rhetoric, and a Persian version of an abridgement of the biblical history … None of this activity is likely to have been lucrative. Gladwin confessed to spending heavily in acquiring manuscripts. Publication costs in India were notoriously high and the market was very restricted. Success depended largely on the willingness of the East India Company to purchase multiple copies" (ODNB).

Paris, 1822. Folio. Period half red morocco and marbled boards, spine gilt with raised bands, marbled endpapers. Foxing to text and tissue guards, the plates quite clean. Very good, uncut. Extremely rare, large-paper, fully handcolored issue of a fundamental work on Alaska, California, and Hawaii, and "one of the most beautiful books of travel in existence" (Hill). This is one of fifty such deluxe copies of the first edition. Louis Choris, born Login Choris in Jekaterinolsaw, Russia on March 22, 1795, was only twenty years old when he was appointed official artist "aboard the Rurik, 1815- 1818, commanded by the Russian, Otto von Kotzebue. The purpose of the voyage was to search for the supposed Northwest Passage. After visiting islands in the South Seas, Kotzebue explored the North American coast and landed twice on the Hawaiian Islands....[The first work in particular] has great American interest because of its lithographs of California, the Queen Charlotte Islands, the Aleutians, St. Lawrence Island in the Bering Sea, and Kotzebue Sound in Alaska. The lithographs cover all aspects of native life and culture, as well as the natural history of the area. Choris was a Russian of German stock, and his book is considered one of the most beautiful books of travel in existence. A map of the route of the expedition accompanies the work" (Hill). The work was issued in twenty-two parts, in three different forms: with the plates uncolored; with just the natural history subjects colored; or in a deluxe form, as here, with all the plates handcolored. "Complete copies with all the plates colored are very rare" - Hill.

Ein Neues Lied Von der Mord-Geschichte des Joseph Miller, welcher...

1822. Verse Account of a Murder-Suicide in Pennsylvania [Broadside]. [Murder-Suicide]. [Pennsylvania]. [Koppelberger, Johannes]. Ein Neues Lied von der Mord-Geschichte des Joseph Miller, Welcher im Januar 1822, Einer Sonntags Nacht Seine Schwangere Frau unde Zwei Kinder auf eine Grausame Art Ermordete, Und sich Selbst Erhing, Welches Alles, Wie man Glaubt, Aus Armuth Geschah...[Running Title]. [N.p.: S.n., 1822]. 12-1/2 x 10" broadside. Text in three columns printed within woodcut border and separated by black rules. Moderate toning and light foxing, fraying and a few chips to edges, tear to bottom edge with negligible loss to text. * This sixteen-stanza "New Song of the Murder-Story of Joseph Miller" is attributed to Johannes Koppelberger. It tells the sad story of a murder-suicide committed by Miller, a German-American. The verses say he eloped from Poland with the daughter of a nobleman in 1817. The couple made their way to Philadelphia and from there to Lebanon, Pennsylvania, where Miller found work as a schoolteacher. The job paid poorly and his wife was increasingly homesick. Depressed, Miller killed his pregnant wife, two children with an ax and himself. It was a grisly affair involving and axe and a knife. This poem was quite popular and issued in a number of different broadside formats. According to Vellenreuter, there were, in all, 16 printings. All are rare. OCLC locates 3 copies of our version (American Antiquarian Society, Library Company of Philadelphia, University of Michigan). Not in Shaw & Shoemaker.       1822 - A Notable Freethinker and Publisher Of Thomas Paine Reports One of His Blasphemy Trials [Trial]. Carlile, Richard [1790-1843], Defendant and Reporter. The Report of the Proceedings of the Court of King's Bench, In the Guildhall, London, On the 12th, 13th, 14th, And 15th Days of October: Being the Mock Trials of Richard Carlile, For Alledged [sic] Blasphemous Libels, In Publishing Thomas Paine's Theological Works and Elihu Palmer's Principles of Nature; Before Lord Chief Justice Abbott, And Special Juries. London: Printed and Published by R. Carlile, 1822. xx, 203 pp. Octavo (8-1/4" x 5-1/4"). Stab-stitched pamphlet (without wrappers) bound into recent marbled boards with paper title label. Toning, light soiling to title page, creases to corners of a few leaves. An appealing copy. * Only edition. Carlile was one of the most prolific freethinking journalist-publisher-political activists of his day. As one would suspect, he was often at odds with the government. In 1819 he was fined 1,500 pounds and imprisoned for three years for six counts of "blasphemous libel." He published this account of the first day of his 1819 trial after his release. It deals with the information against him for publishing Thomas Paine's Age of Reason and Examination of the Passages in the New Testament Quoted from the Old and Called prophecies concerning Jesus Christ, which Carlile issued as The Age of Reason, Part the Third. Portions of these were read in court by Carlile with commentary. Catalogue of the Library of the Harvard Law School II:1035. [Attributes: Soft Cover]

August Löffler (1822 München 1866). Palmenwald bei Kairo. 1853 . Farblithograph.

      - August Löffler (1822 München 1866). Palmenwald bei Kairo. 1853 . Farblithographie auf Papier. -- Technik: -- Farblithographie auf Papier. unten links Unterhalb der Darstellung signiert: "Gemalt u. lith. v. Aug. Loeffler. ", unten rechts bezeichnet: "Gedr. bei J. Adam in München. ", unten betitelt: "Palmenwald in Kairo der Albrecht=Dürer=Verein in Nürnberg seinen Mitgliedern für ds Jahr MDCCCLIII. ". -- [Attributes: Signed Copy]

Heinrich Franz Dreber (1822-1875). Baumstudie. Bleistift

      - Heinrich Franz Dreber (1822 Dresden-Anticoli di Campagna bei Rom 1875). Baumstudie. um 1848 . Bleistift auf Papier, Wasserzeichen: Mondsichel mit Gesicht. -- Beschreibung: -- Bleistift auf Papier, Wasserzeichen: Mondsichel mit Gesicht. . -- Größe/Size: -- 23 x 26,3 cm. -- Zustand: -- Sehr guter, altersgerechter Zustand.

Ein Neues Lied Von der Mord-Geschichte des Joseph Miller, welcher.

1822 - Verse Account of a Murder-Suicide in Pennsylvania [Broadside]. [Murder-Suicide]. [Pennsylvania]. [Koppelberger, Johannes]. Ein Neues Lied von der Mord-Geschichte des Joseph Miller, Welcher im Januar 1822, Einer Sonntags Nacht Seine Schwangere Frau unde Zwei Kinder auf eine Grausame Art Ermordete, Und sich Selbst Erhing, Welches Alles, Wie man Glaubt, Aus Armuth Geschah.[Running Title]. Vellenreuter, Citizens in a Strange Land: A Study of German-American Broadside and Their Meaning for German Americans 13.
