Autobiografia di madame Manson che ebbe grande successo tanto da essere velocemente ristampataÂsette volte alla sola quarta settimana dalla sua uscita. Le memorie raccontano il processo che vide la stessa Manson ascoltata come testimone dell'omicidio - lei stessa stava per essere uccisa - di M. Fualdes, abitante di Rodez, ex procuratore imperiale, assassinato nella notte fra 19 e 20 marzo 1817. Grande rilevanza ebbe all'epoca l'affaire Fualdes. Il processo si concluse con quattro condanne a morte, due ergastoli ed altre pene. Venne tuttavia annullatoÂcon la conferma delle condanne, salvo una pena di morte convertita in ergastolo. LaÂstampa radicale sostenne che Fualdes fosse stato ucciso perche' bonapartista. Le cose si complicarono quando emerse che l'assassinato, in passato acceso rivoluzionario, sarebbe stato a conoscenza di una supposta evasioneÂdi Luigi XVII, strappato dai rivoluzionari a sette anni dalla madre, Maria Antonietta, incarcerato, costretto ad accusare di incesto la madre, probabilmente stuprato e morto ad appena nove anni, nel 1795. Mollevaut's four part poetic tribute to the flowers is accompanied by notes to each part consisting of some flower lore, lengthy quotations from the works of other poets, botanical notes, a chart of the Linnean system, and a "tableau emblematique" or language of flowers. It is one of very few books prior to Charlotte de Latour's LANGAGE DES FLEURS to include material on the language of flowers. Anna Amalie von Imhoff, verh. von Helvig (* 16. August 1776 in Weimar; † 17. Dezember 1831 in Berlin) war eine deutsche Schriftstellerin. Sie lebte zeitweise am Weimarer Musenhof und wurde hier von Johann Wolfgang von Goethe und Friedrich Schiller bei ihrer schriftstellerischen Arbeit gefördert. Alexander von Humboldt verehrte sie, sie war Mitglied bei Goethes Mittwochskränzchen (1801–1803) und ab 1801 eine Hofdame der Herzogin Luise von Hessen-Darmstadt. Nach ihrer Heirat mit einem schwedischen Oberst knüpfte sie enge Kontakte zur Heidelberger Romantik und führte einen bedeutenden Salon in Berlin, der als zentraler Treffpunkt der Vertreter der Weimarer Klassik und der Romantik in Berlin galt. "Half leather. Used copy, joints broken, back loose, but complete. 42 + 668 + (1) p. Illustrated with two folding engraved plates (dated 1818). The initiative for this book about the health and deliverance of cattle was taken by the society ‘Tot Nut van het Algemeen'. They asked Alexander Numan (1781-1854), a veterinarian at Hoogezand who had already published a translation from a German book on this subject by J.N. Rohlwes (1755-1823), to edit a completely new manual, based on his translation of Rohlwes. The fist edition appeared in 1819; a second edition was printed in 1826 and many editions were to follow. At least 10 different editions were printed in the 19th century. The manual informs the reader about illnesses of horses, cows, sheep, pigs and dogs, and the remedies, as well as about the deliverance of the animals. A letter by Admiral Baron Albin Reine Roussin, dated "Rochefort 21st of August 1818", to Louis-Marie Bajot (1775-1854), the inspector-general of the libraries of the Ministry of the French Navy and editor of the Annales maritimes & coloniales.Roussin discusses an article published in the Annales Maritimes (which had appeared earlier in the Moniteur of 13 October) that criticized his survey of the African coast from Senegal to Guinea, as well as the work of several of his predecessors and colleagues, including Labarthe's Voyage à la côte de Guinée, où Description des côtes d'Afrique. Roussin published the results of his surveys a year later as Mémoire sur la navigation aux côtes occidentales d'Afrique (Paris, 1819).In very good condition.
