DANZ, Johann Andreas
Ienae : Sumtibus Johannis Bielckii, 1696. - 1696 Johann Andreas DANZ Jewish Hebrew Grammar Language Judaica Ebraeo-Chaldaeus Johann Andreas Danz’s work on Hebrew grammar is an excellent source of oriental languages. Danz attempted to perfect the study of Hebrew language and many of the terminologies that are used, even now, are attributed to him. However, at the time of writing, Danz inadvertently made the study of Hebrew grammar much more difficult than he had hoped. This work was the work that helped Danz create a name for himself, especially through his ideas of Hebrew antiquities. This particular printing seems to be rather unique. It is bound with two other works, which do not appear in library or bibliographical references. Item number: #459 Price: $950 DANZ, Johann Andreas Io. Andr. Penzinger, Sebastian Heinrich:
Wienn, Andreas Heyinger, 1696 - 20 x 16 cm. [10] Bl., 672 S., [15] Bl. Pergamentband der Zeit (Deckel alters- und fingerfleckig). *VD17 384:717947K.

[Attributes: First Edition]

Bierens de Haan 5538 (2nd ed.); STCN (1 & 2 copies of the 1st and 2nd eds. respectively); no edition in Philip, Firework books; STCV. Third edition, newly illustrated, of a very rare fireworks manual, including two additional contemporary watercolour drawings, both depicting a man lighting a skyrocket, with the resulting fireworks in the background. The text starts with a preface, followed by brief descriptions of some of the essential ingredients for fireworks: saltpetre (potassium nitrate), sulphur and charcoal, explaining how to get the best composition for gunpowder. The following 55 chapters deal with the manufacture of different types of fireworks: skyrockets, crackers, fireballs, fountains and so-called "dragons". The author explains how to make specific cartridges out of paper, how to determine the appropriate amount of gunpowder, how and where to light the fireworks, how to install them on buildings, etc. The book closes with a table of contents. The present third edition is only known from two other copies. The first two editions are equally rare. The book was first published in1678 and a second edition appeared in 1696, enlarged with two entries copied from the 1672 Dutch translation of John Babington's Pyrotechnia (1635). In 1715 the main text of the present edition would be included as part of the 10th edition of Witgeest's Het verbeetert en vermeerdert natuurlyk toverboek. While the first two edition where published anonymously, the preface of the present is falsely signed by the Po … [Click Below for Full Description]
