Inizia con la sua prima opera, qui in seconda edizione (prima edizione: 1537), che si occupa di agrimensura, ingegneria, fortificazioni e, più che altro, della "nuova scientia", ossia di balistica, che ebbe infatti inizio con Tartaglia. Dopo aver scoperto e dimostrato che la traiettoria non è una linea dritta, lo scienziato cerca di dare una spiegazione al volo dei proiettili, spianando così la strada a Galileo che per primo ne fissò i principi matematici. Mit dem Kauf der Grafschaft Kirchberg und der Herrschaft Weißenhorn durch Jakob Fugger im Jahre 1507 begann der Aufstieg der Fugger "von der Lilie" in den Adel. Schon 1511 wurde der bürgerliche Unternehmer Jakob Fugger (1459-1525) aus lehensrechtlichen Gründen in den Adelsstand erhoben; die Erhebung eines Kaufmanns in den Freiherrenstand war ein Vorgang ohne Parallele im Reich. Nach dem Tod des kinderlos verstorbenen Jakob übernahm dessen Neffe Anton Fugger (1493-1560) das Familienunternehmen; mit seinem Tod endete das "Zeitalter der Fugger". - Papierverlust in der unteren linken Ecke (bis knapp ans Bild reichend) fachmännisch hinterlegt.
