- 2 in 1 Bd. Folio (372 x 275 mm). 583 röm. durchnummerierte Bl. (ohne die 3 unbedruckten). Zweispaltiger Druck, Pergamentband des 18. Jhs. Nürnberg, Anton Koberger, 17. Februar 1483. [Click Below for Full Description]

It comprises one of a series of Aristotelian texts that were produced by Andreas Tornesanus and Bartholomaeus de Blavis between 1 February and 25 October 1483. The translation is anonymous but William Moerke and Michael Scotus were responsible for the other medico-scientific Latin versions in the series. Aristotle's Physics is a fundamental text of Western natural philosophy. FORESTI JACOPO FILIPPO DA BERGAMO.
Venezia, per Bernardinum de Benaliis Bergomensem, 1483. In - folio; 10, 116, 180 cc. [Click Below for Full Description]

In the present guide, Guevara gives rulers directions with regard to their private and public conduct. The work is divided into three books: On the need for the Prince to be a good Christian; how the Prince should behave towards his wife and children; and how he should govern himself and his country. It contains the life of Marcus Aurelius and his "Letters," full of moral advice and instructions about correct social behaviour. Guevara gives numerous exemplary and instructive stories from a variety of sources, mostly from classical history but some entirely fictitious, as well as proverbs and wise sayings. The present work was translated into French in 1531 and a second revised French translation by Nicolas de Herberay appeared in 1555. The present edition was probably printed for several French booksellers simultaneously, as the imprint and publisher's device vary from copy to copy, with some for Arnoul l'Angelier or Gilles Corrozet. Festus, Sextus Pompeius
Bresciae: Boninus de boninis, 1483. Large hand-drawn initial capital letter. 38 lines, 2 columns, a6b8c-d6e8f-h6 [-h6]; 51 leaves, numbered [1]- 51 (lacking final blank). 1 vols. Folio. Modern boards, washed and remarkably clean, except that the final gathering shows faint waterstaining at outer margin and a small unobtrusive stain in the text; overall, a beautiful copy. Large hand-drawn initial capital letter. 38 lines, 2 columns, a6b8c-d6e8f-h6 [-h6]; 51 leaves, numbered [1]- 51 (lacking final blank). 1 vols. Folio. A Rare and Important Latin Dictionary, 1483. Sextus Pompeius Festus was a grammarian of the 2nd century A.D., who wrote this abridgement ("epitome") of the now lost encyclopedic dictionary of his contemporary Marcus Verrius Flaccus - which survives only in fragments and in occasional citations by other authors. Our primary remaining source of this important Latin dictionary is Festus' abridgement, of which there is only one surviving manuscript (mutilated, and consisting of only the letters M-V), and an 8th-century abridgment of Festus by Paul the Deacon. The printed editions from the 15th century, therefore, are of the utmost importance in the history of the transmission of the text. Vancil lists 10: (201-210), beginning with the first edition of Milan, 1471. This edition by Boninus de Bonini is the last edition printed in the 15th century, and apparently the last edition before the rediscovered mutilated manuscript was printed in 1559. Goff locates two copies (Hartford Theological Seminary and Newberry Library). RLIN & OCLC both locate one copy (Emory Univer … [Click Below for Full Description]

(Text englisch) A great merit of the author is to have studied this present here in three volumes picturesque oeuvre of the great Raphael (1483-1520) deeply reaching. Chronologically ordered and closely follows the Vita Raphael, the set boasts countless details, there are a total of more than 90 paintings covered in detail in text and image. The key questions are this: Who were the precursors such were handled by him with the work, where does the image concept and how exactly does it, comes the work actually by the master himself, or have a student or a colleague hand applied? And not least: how accurat … [Click Below for Full Description]
