Published by Wyld, London circa 1850. A set of four large folding maps on linen bound in stiff black cloth-covered boards with a gold-stamped title to the front, each 100 by 68 cm, and each in 25 sections. Scale seven miles to the inch. Over 40 separate linear sections are also included in sea areas around the outer edges of the map to show the gradients of the major railways and their principal branches. Some hand-colouring. A key provides information on railways completed; railways in progress; cities; market towns; villages; turnpike roads; rivers; canals; county borders and crossroads. All four have new spines, the SW, SE and NW sections are in their original boards and the NE section has matching new boards. A very detailed map in VG condition.Complete set of four
