Including frontis, 12 Fine tipped-in color plates plus captioned tissue guards, plus over 30 black and white illustrations by Arthur Rackham. Bright gold titles, artwork and top edges. Tight binding. Square corners. Solid book appears unread; dozen unopened leaves. Fore and bottom edges rough cut. Illustrated endpapers. Ibsen considered the most important playwright since Shakespeare. Peer Gynt, based on a fairy tale, is one of the most widely performed Norwegian plays. 1936 stated. 8vo (10 1/2 in. tall); 255 pp. Front bottom spine shoulder bumped, front top and rear bottom corner faintly soiled.
