Mr. Ostervald, professor of Divinity . at Neuchatel); text in double column; 2 inserted engraved vignette title pages (O.T. and N.T.), 2 engraved frontispieces, 10 engraved or woodcut plates, 3 engraved hand-colored maps (1 folding); 2 pro-forma leaves of "Family Record;" original full mottled sheep, simple gilt floral border on covers, gilt-tooled black lettering pieces on gilt-decorated spine; moderate dampstaining, foxing, and general wear, but in all a good, sound copy, collated and complete. With the ownership signature of Oren Godard and his wife Minerva Holcomb, and with 13 family members entered in the register. A few of the plates are noteworthy: the copper-engraved frontispiece "The Scale of Centuries" with 4 vignettes in the corners (2 hand-colored), and the Tower of Babel.
