Ltd. amended to 1925 on original inserted slip 1924 - Limited edition number 42 of 450 copies, 4to., 57, (9) pp., thirty-seven woodcuts by Frans Masereel (7 full-page), specially bound for Denis Collins by the Cottage Bindery in modern black goatskin, upper cover with gilt design of 'Prisoner C33' in imitation of the frontispiece, slip-case, original endpapers and half-title foxed and the odd spot elsewhere otherwise very clean and beautifully bound. Frans Masereel (1889 1972) was a Flemish painter and graphic artist known especially for his woodcuts and his greatest work is generally considered to be the wordless novel 'Passionate Journey' one of over 20 wordless novels completed by him.
